Xtreme Edge vs Attack from Alpharetta, GA – 06/11/2005
A good start for the Edge with a 8-0 win. Nice line drive hits by Tiffany Smith, Julie Tower and Elizabeth Ferrell, with RBIs added by Kristie King and Julie Harmon, capped a 4-run 1st inning. Additonal RBIs by Sammy Simon and Baillie Lott rounded out balanced scoring for the Edge. Baillie Lott and Kristie King combined for great pitch calls and execution limiting the opponent to just 3 hits. A quick defensive charge by second base JulieTower on a high hopper and 2 K’s by Baillie Lott prevented scoring by the Attack in the 2nd. Elizabeth Ferrell’s speed and head first slide into second base created an opportunity for Sammy Simon to drive in a run in the 3rd. Sammy also caught a rocket line drive at third base to keep runners off base in the 4th.

Xtreme Edge vs PittCounty Rockets from Greenville, NC – 06/11/2005
A tough opponent with pretty hot bats, tested Edge’s mettle. Hitting was led by Sammy Simon with 2 RBIs. Nice pitching by Baillie Lott kept the game in hand until late in the game when the Rockets woke up and managed to push across a couple of runs. With the Edge leading 3-0, Pitt County picked up a hit or two and managed to score a couple runs before being held off by the Edge 3-2.

Xtreme Edge vs TN Explosion from Nashville, TN – 06/12/2005
The Edge lost a close one to our local rivals. Explosion got a 1st inning run which Edge matched in the
3rd inning when Elizabeth Ferrell hit a sharp liner to left, was sacrificed by Ashley Smith, and was brought around by a line-hugging double past third base by Tiffany Smith. In the 5th inning, Explosion put up a
3-spot and Edge brought it within 2 in the 6th inning when Julie Harmon got down a bunt single, Elizabeth singled, and Tiffany reached 1st allowing Harmon and Elizabeth to score.

Xtreme Edge vs PittCounty Rockets from Greenville, NC – 06/12/2005
Edge lost a close one as Pitt County bats woke up in the late innings. Baillie Lott pitched well late into the game when Pitt County started hitting. Carrying a 3-0 lead Edge gave up 6 runs to the Rockets in the 5th inning bringing in Julie Harmon to pitch with the score tied at 3-3. Edge managed a short comeback with a couple of runs when Amanda Jordan blasted a ball deep into the 240 ft. deep left field. Edge never gave up and finished the Slingfest Tournament in third place out of the 21 teams that entered.
