Coach Ernie Reynolds, Head Coach - Trevecca University
What a joy it has been to be affiliated with this group of girls. When I started with the girls in the fall of 2003, I found a group of players that were athletic and well drilled in individual skills. What we set out to do was put a “brand” on this team called the Xtreme Edge. We wanted the girls to be proud to belong to this team and we wanted people to take notice when they heard our name or saw us play.
To accomplish this we established discipline in everything we do. Discipline includes respect for each other, the coaches, the parents, the opponent, their equipment, and the game. Edge has also accomplished this by hard work and attention to detail. Every Edge player understands the importance of everyone affiliated with the team and their roles on any given day.
I am very gratified when I see the growth of this team. The individuals on this team have committed to improving, and their commitment to each other and the overall goals of the team is remarkable.
I have now passed the responsibility of Head Coach to Coach Phelps, and remain committed to the Edge program as their team trainer. We have high aspirations for the 2006 season and know that goals don’t simply happen but rather are something we must work for every day and every pitch. Whatever our final destination, it has truly been a pleasure to work with these players. The preparation of these players, their knowledge of the game, and their participation in this program will make them an asset to any organization they join in the future.
