Xtreme Edge vs Chattanooga Eagles from Chattanooga , TN – 06/18/2005
Edge played a complete game against the Eagles with great control, 10 strikeout pitching by Baillie Lott and a nice mix of pitch calls by catcher Kristie King. This was a traditional pitchers duel with few hits and great defense. The Eagles only run was on a home run by Camry Chester. Edge broke through and tied the game on a single by Sammy Simon. Pinch running for Simon, Julie Harmon advanced to third base as consecutive sacrifice bunts were called for by Coach Ernie Reynolds and executed to perfection by Amanda Jordan and Elizabeth Ferrell. Alert play allowed Harmon to score from third base on a pass ball to knot the score at 1 each. The final run for Edge came in the first tie breaker inning when Julie Harmon laid down the squeeze bunt and Baillie Lott stormed home with a great slide.

Xtreme Edge vs East Cobb Bullets from Marietta , GA – 06/18/2005
Edge remained in the winner’s bracket of the tournament with a good team win. Down by 1 in the top of the 6 th inning, speedy Elizabeth Ferrell reached first base on a bunt, advanced and was able to score on consecutive singles by Ashley Smith and Tiffany Smith. With the score 1-1, Edge broke through in the 7 th inning, when Amanda Jordan reached base on a Bullets error, Julie Harmon singled, Ferrell sacrificed to advance Jordan and Harmon, and Ashley Smith stroked a single to score both runners. Edge held off a strong team from Marietta, GA with a 13-strikeout performance from pitcher Julie Harmon and pitch calls from Edge catcher Kristie King that kept the Bullets off balance.

Xtreme Edge vs Georgia Lightning from Ringgold , GA – 06/19/2005
The highlight of this game came in the bottom of the 5 th inning when left-fielder Tiffany Smith made a fantastic grab on a ball that tipped off shortstop Amanda Jordan’s glove. Smith not only caught the ball but quickly doubled the runner off first base. In this final game of the winner’s bracket, Edge also got great pitching from Baillie Lott in another pitcher’s duel. Edge began threatening in top of the 5 th inning when Elizabeth Ferrell and Julie Harmon singled and advanced on great push bunt by Amanda Jordan. Alexis Pinnell (who reached base in every plate appearance) then hit a liner to left field that scored Ferrell. Sammy Simon followed with another perfect push bunt to score Harmon. A single by Tiffany Smith scored Pinnell and gave the Edge a 3-run lead.

Xtreme Edge vs Chattanooga Eagles from Chattanooga , TN – 06/19/2005
Edge played another complete game holding off a talented Eagle team to win the inaugural Music City Hits Tournament. Edge got great pitching by Julie Harmon (voted Best Pitcher of the tournament) and excellent defense by the Xtreme Edge. Kristie King gave Edge a 2-0 lead when she fake bunted and blasted a liner to left that brought home Baillie Lott (HBP) and Julie Harmon (1B) home after Elizabeth Ferrell (voted MVP of the tournament for fabulous, fast baserunning, consistent hitting, and great defense) laid down a nice bunt single. Edge notched 3 more runs in a game that was never in doubt against the always strong Eagle team.
